Services available at Mt Druitt
SydWest's settlement services provide assistance to new arrivals through our Information Sessions, Multicultural Support Groups, Learner Driver Mentoring Program and many more. We also hold regular Citizenship classes to help New Arrivals prepare for the Citizenship Test, as well as English Conversation and Sewing classes. Our qualified case workers are bilingual, facilitating a smooth transition for our clients to the Australian way of life.
With the youth making up more than 30% of Mt. Druitt's population (cf. Census 2016), our SydWest hub has also become a youth social hub. We offer Youth services and programs such as Homework Support, School Holiday Activities, Football Programs, Youth Events and many others. At Mt. Druitt office, our Youth Homework Help classes are held weekly after school, and our office has a Study Centre and Wi-Fi access available. Our close proximity to schools makes SydWest's services accessible for our after-school programs and services.
SydWest Mt. Druitt is greatly supported by MECA Mt. Druitt (Mt Druitt Ethnic Communities Association) – one of our key partners in the area, the Blacktown City Council as well as Local MPs for Mt. Druitt: Ed Husic, Federal MP and Edmond Atalla, NSW MP.
