The group started with around 10 members and today has 55 members in the group from all areas of India.
The group has been meeting at the Glenwood Community Hub from day one and they are a happy and active group, often singing, dancing or reciting poetry together. The group also enjoys cooking, exercises and always learning.
In recognising their 10-year anniversary, members of the Glenwood SSG shared:
…too much excitement about wishing happy10th Anniversary. So l will say now (our) heartiest congratulations and best wishes on achieving 10th Anniversary with such tremendous success and harmony among all of us that we look forward to each meeting with such joy.
With COVID-19 health and safety practices in place, the Glenwood SSG has maintained its regular meeting schedule and has moved online!
We extend our heartiest congratulations to all of us on achieving the milestone of a decade of successful running of this senior support group. It is creditable for Sonal, SydWest Multicultural Services and each one of us to stay well connected during all the years and especially during this pandemic. Whilst we are eagerly awaiting the face to face meetings the zoom sessions are useful to keep us well informed and entertained. We are grateful to the Australian Governments at all levels for funding various Aged Care Programmes.
SydWest Multicultural Services has a large social support groups program for seniors, helping to break social isolation through social outings, information sessions and group sharing.
