Blacktown Employment Pathway Project is aimed at creating a conducive environment for job opportunities to newly arrival (immigrants and refugee), Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Community and people living with disability by mainly three ways:
1 Enabling and preparing unemployed clients from diverse background to access job opportunity by providing services like resume writing training, mock interview, online job search support.
2 Providing education and awareness on benefit of employing newly arrival (immigrants and refugee), CALD Community and people living with disability to the employer, local business owner and job provider in their business outcome by organising Blacktown Business Lunch event.
3 Developing linkages between both parties - Job Seeker with Job Providers to pave the employment pathway based on mutual trust and support system by organising Employment Accelerator Events.
The project is running from July 2019 for six months. In collaboration with TAFE, 13 participants attended a training on Job Seeking Training (July- Sep 2019). More participants are receiving support on job search and resume writing from Job Seeking Support class running on every Wednesday from August to November 2019 from 11:30-1:30 pm at SydWest Blacktown office.

- Blacktown Business Lunch event on Blacktown Business Lunch at Blacktown Worker Club on 31 October 2019
- Volunteer placement for the job seekers
- Blacktown Employment Accelerator at Blacktown TAFE Maria Locke Centre on 28 November 2019.
The project is a partnership with Settlement Services International (SSI).
